Mission
Eriskay Communication Group (ECG) is dedicated to empowering nurses to advance their careers through high-quality online and in-person education. With over 30 years of experience, we specialise in scientific, mathematical, and clinical education, providing a supportive learning environment for nurses seeking to become Nurse Practitioners (NPs).

We have highly experienced instructors with many years of clinical education both in face to face and online settings. We use our team of skilled and well practiced simulated patients, who provide effective and appropriate feedback.
Team
Janina Iwaszko
Janina has a background in scientific research with a PhD in Medical Biophysics and Cancer research, her love of teaching led to several busy years as a Head of Department for Science at an Adult Education College. She then followed her heart to her other great love, and qualified in medicine in 1991 and worked for over 25 years in the NHS in both emergency and older adult medicine before specialising in Medical Education. As well as working clinically and teaching in medical education, Janina has been both a Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow and a Clinical Lead for Acute Medical Simulation and she achieved her Masters in Medical Education in 2014. Since then she has been involved with clinical teaching, developing clinical curricula and setting up and training in clinical simulation. Janina has presented at several national and international conferences and her research interests include the early acquisition of clinical competence, clinical reasoning, ways of improving patient safety and the use of simulation in clinical training. Online teaching developed and enhanced during Covid.
David King
David has a background in science to David has a background in science to degree level and is really motivated to teach adults how to understand science, maths and IT. He has used his skills as a teacher and trainer to work for over 35 years in a wide range of IT training settings, high stakes end user system development and problem solving situations, both nationally and internationally. More recently David has worked in the area of communication using his skills acquired over many years of teaching and training adults in the implementation of new complex IT systems, often in stressful and time critical settings. David then became involved in the set up and implementation of clinical simulation, augmented reality and virtual reality training across a range of settings. As well as working in teaching and training face-to-face, David has a range of experience developing the use of simulation in online training of communication skills.
Christopher King
Chris has a background in Clinical Communications, lecturing at the University of Worcester, and he has over 9 years of experience working as a simulated patient. He also has experience working for the University of Birmingham and at a number of independently organised clinical communication courses around the country both online and face to face. Chris delivers talks on the principals and theories of clinical communication, as well as delivering simulated consultations with a range of patient types, covering a large array of communication styles and condition presentations. This, coupled with the key element of feedback, reflection and discussion after the simulations means that Chris always aims for clients to come out of the scenarios with a greater understanding of their skills and their abilities.
